Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of football players during the final match of the Seoul Olympics on October 1, 1988, between the USSR and Brazil teams, which ended with the Soviet team's victory with a score of 2:1. Inscriptions: on the right — 'Seoul', at the bottom along the rim — 'Olympic Champions. 1988'. At the top along the rim the text: 100th Anniversary of Russian Football.
Obverse
In the upper part along the rim arc is the coin's denomination '1 ruble' and the year of minting '1997', below are the words 'BANK OF RUSSIA'. In the center, within a dotted circle, is a double-headed eagle; below it, on the inside of the dotted circle, on the left the chemical symbol Ag and fineness 925, then to the right the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'LMD' and the chemically pure weight of the precious metal in grams '7.78'.
