At the bottom near the rim, the word 'MOSCOW' and the year of the XXII Olympiad '1980', separated by a dot.

In the upper part of the coin is the State Emblem of the USSR, encircled by a ribbon (15 turns). The abbreviation 'USSR' is split into two parts—'SS' is to the left of the emblem, and 'SR' to the right. Below is a double line, beneath it the denomination of the coin, the numeral '10', and below that the word 'RUBLES'.
