The denomination on two lines (five-petal rosettes left and right) and the monetary unit: ✿ 5 ✿ RUBLES Below, a decorative divider in the form of two oppositely directed ornamental lines with a dotted rosette between them. Under the divider is the year of mintage "1833". Below the year, the abbreviation "S.P.B." (Saint Petersburg Mint). Between the edge and the center of the coin is a rim of closely spaced dots. Between the edge and the rim, a circular inscription reads: CHISTAGO ZOLOTA 1 ZOLOTNIK 39 DOLY (Pure Gold 1 Zolotnik 39 Dolya). The edge is decorated with a toothed border of sharp teeth pointing towards the center.
Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire - a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two imperial crowns, with a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow, within the shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback spearing a dragon. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right - Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left - Polish, Taurican, and Finnish. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left - an orb. Under the right talon is the letter "P", under the left - the letter "D". The initials of Mintmaster Pavel Danilov. The border is decorated with denticles.
