    In the central part — Dionisiy's icon 'The Crucifixion' (1500) from the Trinity Cathedral of the Pavlovo-Obnorsky Monastery near Vologda (now in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow). To the left and right of the icon are 16th-century miniatures from the 'Illuminated Chronicle Compilation': 'The Stand on the Ugra River during the reign of Ivan III' and 'Ivan III's Campaign against Novgorod'. At the bottom is the text: DIONISIY.

    In the upper part along the rim arc is the coin's denomination 'THREE RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left are the metal designation from Mendeleev's periodic table, Ag, and the fineness 900. Below in the center is the year of mintage '2002'. Below on the right are the weight of the pure precious metal 31.10 and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'SPMD'. In the central part of a characteristic dotted rim is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
