    On the surface of the brilliant mirror field of the coin is a complex of buildings of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg (aerial view), on the right are the Alexander Column and the facade of the General Staff building, at the top in a round medallion is a portrait of Catherine II, to the left of it within a ring of floral ornament is the Empress's monogram and a two-line inscription: 'ERMITAZH 250', along the periphery of the disc is a floral ornament.
