    The center is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread, both heads wearing crowns, with a larger third crown above and between the heads. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Around the eagle the text: МАНЕТА НОВАѦ ЦЕНА ПОЛТИНА ҂АѰИI (1718). Along the edge of the coin — a beaded border.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. In the sleeve truncation — the letters 'OK', the initials of the medallist Osip Kalashnikov. Around the portrait the text: ЦРЬ ПЕТРЪ АЛЕѯIЕВИЧЪ ВСЕѦ РОСИI САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ. The coin's rim consists of denticles.
