    The center is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread, both heads wearing crowns, with a larger third crown above and between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. On the eagle's tail — the letter 'L'. Mintmaster's mark of Johann Luvis LANG (Ivan LANG in Russian interpretation). Around the eagle, the text: МОНЕТА НОВАѦ ЦЕНА ПОЛТИНА ҂АѰѲI (1719). Along the edge of the coin — a twisted dotted border.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. In the truncation of the shoulder — the letters 'OK', the initials of the medallist Osip Kalashnikov. Around the portrait, the text: ЦРЬ ПЕТРЪ АЛЕѯIЕВИЧЪ ВСЕѦ РОСИI САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ. The coin's edge consists of denticles.
