The upper part of the reverse features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below, on two lines, is the denomination (with six-pointed stars to the left and right) and the monetary unit: 25 KOPĒKЪ. This is followed by a divider element consisting of two elongated, oppositely directed figures with a dot between them. Slightly below the ornamental divider is the coin's year of minting '1861', beneath which is the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge, an oak branch. The branches are tied together at the base with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The entire edge of the coin is struck with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned above and between them. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow, within the shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback spearing a dragon. Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. The coats of arms on the wings (four on each wing): Kazan, Polish, Taurida, Astrakhan, Siberian, Georgian, Kiev and Novgorod, Vladimir. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, and in the left, an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'M', under the left, the letter 'I'. These are the initials of mintmaster Mikhail Ivanov. The center of the obverse is enclosed within a braided rim. At the top is an eight-petaled flower, visually indicating the start of the inscription: CHISTAGO SEREBRA 1 ZOLOTNIK 5 1/4 DOLĒĪ (Pure Silver 1 Zolotnik 5 1/4 Dolya). The rim is decorated with short denticles.
