    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of K.P. Bryullov's painting. At the bottom right is its title in three lines: 'THE LAST DAY OF POMPEII'. On the left are an inscription and dates in four lines: 'KARL BRYULLOV', '1799', '1852'. At the bottom in a semi-oval is a self-portrait of the artist.

Below, in the center, is the mintage year '1999 г.'. Below on the right are the precious metal weight in pure content '15.55' and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'SPMD'. In the central part of a characteristic dotted circle is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
