Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief depiction of A.S. Pushkin on a walk with a cane in his hand; behind him is a stylized outline of Onegin. In the background, at the top left, is a double portrait in an oval, a pair of dueling pistols, and a letter; below is a manor house and a speeding troika harnessed to a carriage. At the top right are the outlines of St. Petersburg, a seated woman, and a kneeling man before her; below are a candle in a candlestick, an inkwell with a pen, and a sealed envelope. Further below is the inscription: 'ALEKSANDR PUSHKIN' and dates in two lines: '1799' '1837'.
Obverse
In the upper part, along the rim arc, is the coin's denomination 'TWENTY FIVE RUBLES'. Slightly below on the left are the metal designation from Mendeleev's periodic table 'Ag' and the fineness '900'. Below, in the center, is the year of mintage '1999'. Below on the right are the weight of pure precious metal '155.50' and the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'MMD'. Within a characteristic dotted circle in the central part is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
