In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a Blakiston's fish owl against a background of aquatic plants; to the right of the image is the circumferential inscription: 'РЫБНЫЙ ФИЛИН' (BLAKISTON'S FISH OWL).
Obverse
In the upper part, along the rim arc, are the coin's denomination '1 рубль' (1 ruble) and the year of minting '1993 г.', below are the words 'БАНК РОССИИ' (BANK OF RUSSIA). In the center, within a dotted circle, is a double-headed eagle; below it, on the inside of the dotted circle, on the left is the chemical symbol Ag and fineness 900, then to the right the mint mark 'ЛМД' (LMD) and the chemically pure weight of the precious metal in grams '15,55'.
