    In a cartouche in the center is the monument to Peter I ('The Bronze Horseman') on Senate Square in St. Petersburg; at the top left are three sailing ships against the outline of the Admiralty; at the bottom, against the outline of the Kunstkamera, are an astronomical instrument, a scroll, a compass, a divider, a square, and two books; at the top right is an image of a double-headed eagle under a crown with an orb and scepter against the outline of the 'Twelve Collegia' building; at the bottom, against the outline of the Shlisselburg Fortress, are banners, cannons, cannonballs, rifles, a drum, and a shield with a double-headed eagle.

In the central part of a characteristic dotted circle is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
