Below the denomination is a decorative divider consisting of two oppositely directed ornamental lines with a small circle between them, containing a raised dot in its center. Below the divider is the year of mintage '1835'. Below the year is the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). On the left side of the coin, along the edge, is a laurel branch, and on the right side, an oak branch. At their base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a neat bow. The entire edge of the coin is stamped with protruding denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is separated from the edge by a beaded circle. Inside the circle is a double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned between them. All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. The coats of arms on the wings: Left wing: Polish, Tauridian, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. In the right talon is a scepter, and below it the letter 'N'. In the left talon is an orb, and below it the letter 'G'. Together, the letters form the initials of mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. In the upper part of the obverse is an eight-pointed star with a dot inside, visually indicating the start of the inscription: 'CHISTAGO SEREBRA 4 ZOLOTNIKA 21 DOLIA' (Pure Silver 4 Zolotniks 21 Dolias). The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
