  • Reverse
The upper part of the reverse features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination (with six-pointed stars on the left and right) and the monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 25 КОПѢЕКЪ. This is followed by a divider element consisting of two elongated, oppositely directed figures with a dot between them. Slightly below the ornamental divider is the coin's year of minting '1861', under which is the abbreviation 'С.П.Б.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge is an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The entire edge of the coin is stamped with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle wear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned above and between the heads. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. On the eagle's chest is the Moscow coat of arms, within a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback spearing a dragon. The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. The coats of arms on the wings (four on each wing): Kazan, Polish, Taurida, Astrakhan, Siberian, Georgian, Kiev and Novgorod, Vladimir. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, and in the left an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'Ф', under the left is the letter 'Б'. The initials of mintmaster Fedor Blum. The center of the obverse is enclosed within a braided rim. At the top is an eight-petaled flower, visually indicating the start of the inscription: ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 1 ЗОЛОТНИК 5 1/4 ДОЛЕЙ (Pure Silver 1 Zolotnik 5 1/4 Dolya). The rim is decorated with short denticles.
