All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. The coats of arms on the wings: Left wing: Polish, Taurida, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. In the right talon is a scepter, above it the letter 'M'. In the left talon is an orb, above it the letter 'W'. Together, the letters indicate the Warsaw Mint. The center of the obverse is enclosed within a braided rim. At the top is an eight-petal flower, visually marking the beginning of the inscription: CHISTAGO SEREBRA 2 ZOLOTNIKA 10 1/2 DOLI. The edge is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
