Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is placed above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in the left—an orb. Above the eagle is the minting year—'1745'. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: MONETA•POLTINA•
Obverse
The center of the obverse features a right-facing profile portrait of the Russian Empress Elizabeth I Petrovna. From left to right along the edge in an arc runs the inscription: B•M•ELISAVET•I•IMP: I SAMOD: VSEROS: In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'S P B' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
