Reverse In the central part — an inscription in three lines: 50PENNIÄ1869. Along the left and right edges of the coin is a wreath of oak branches, which do not touch at the top. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a double bow. The rim of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
Obverse In the central part is depicted the full Coat of Arms of the Grand Duchy of Finland — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. On the eagle's breast is a shield with the titular coat of arms of the Grand Prince of Finland, crowned with a princely crown. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the left talon is the mark of the Director of the Helsingfors Mint — the initial 'S', August Frederick Soldan. The rim is decorated with denticles.
