The center of the obverse features a crowned double-headed eagle. On its chest is the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Poland, placed under a royal crown and a canopy. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter and a sword, and below it is the initial 'I•'. In its left talon, an orb is visible, and below it the initial 'B•'. Together, the letters indicate the mintmaster Jacub Benik. Above the eagle's heads is the issue date '1824', divided by a large crown.
