    The center is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread, both heads wearing crowns, with a larger third crown above and between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Beneath the eagle's talons are the digits 17-07, indicating the year of issue (1707). In the upper part, around the eagle, the text: MOSKOVSKII POLTINNIK. Along the edge of the coin — a dotted border.

    The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Around the portrait, the text: TSAR PETR ALEKSIEVICH: V: R: P: The rim is executed in the form of a twisted rope (denticles at an angle to the ground).
