In the central part of the coin is a double-headed eagle – the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both heads bear crowns, with a larger third crown between them. The eagle's wings are raised and its feathers are spread. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. The state emblem is surrounded by a circular inscription: '• MONETA • NOVAIA • TSENA • ROUBL' • ҂АѰѲI •', where the letters '҂АѰѲI' indicate the year of coinage – 1719. The rim resembles a twisted cable – the traditional denticles are set at an angle to the ground.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features a right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Around the edge, encircling the emperor's profile, is a circular inscription: 'TSR' • PETR' • ALEXIEVICH • VSELA • ROSII • SAMODERZHETS' •. The rim looks like a braided rope.
