    In the upper part along the rim arc is the coin's denomination '1 ruble' and the year of minting '1997', below are the words 'BANK OF RUSSIA'. In the center, within a dotted circle, is a double-headed eagle. Below it, on the inside of the dotted circle, on the left is the chemical symbol Ag and fineness 925, then to the right the manufacturer's (mint) mark 'MMD' and the chemically pure weight of the precious metal in grams '7.78'.
