The central part of the coin features a double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both heads bear crowns, with a larger third crown between them. The eagle's wings are raised and its feathers are spread. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. The state emblem is surrounded by a circular inscription: '• МОНЕТА • НОВАѦ • ЦЕНА • РꙊБЛЬ • ҂АѰѲI •', where the letters '҂АѰѲI' indicate the year of minting: 1719. The rim resembles a twisted cable, with traditional denticles set at an angle.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. In the sleeve truncation are the letters 'OK', the initials of the engraver Osip Kalashnikov. A circular inscription runs along the edge: 'ЦРЬ • ПЕТРЬ • АЛЕѯIЕВИЧЪ • ВСЕѦ • РОСИI • САМОДЕРЖЕЦЬ •'. The rim appears as a braided rope.
