  • Reverse
In the upper part of the reverse is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 10 KOPĒEKЪ. Further down is a decorative divider consisting of two pointed lines with a circled dot between them. Below the divider, the year of mintage "1842" and the abbreviation "S.P.B." (Saint Petersburg Mint) are indicated on two lines. In the left part of the coin, along the edge, is a laurel branch, and in the right part, an oak branch. At the base, the branches are intertwined with a ribbon, the knot of which forms an elegant bow. The coin's rim is decorated with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, and a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right — those of Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberia; on the left — those of Poland, Taurida, and Finland. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter "A", under the left — the letter "Ch". The initials of Mintmaster Aleksey Chadov. The rim is decorated with denticles.
