On the eagle's breast, under a crown and canopy, is the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Poland (a single-headed crowned eagle). In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter and a sword, and in its left, an orb. Below each talon are the initials 'I•' and 'B•', indicating the mintmaster Jakub Benik (J. Benik). Above the eagle's heads is the mint year '1818', divided by the large crown. Around the eagle is a circular inscription: 1. ZŁOTY POLSKI. 86 86/125 Z GRZ• CZ• KOL•

In the upper part of the coin is a six-pointed star, visually marking the beginning of the inscription: ALEXANDER I CESARZ SA• W• ROS• KRÓL POLSKI (Translation: 'Alexander I Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia, King of Poland')
