Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is placed above and between the eagle's heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Around the eagle, facing inward, the text reads: MONETA NOVAYA TSENA RUBL 1•7•2•5•
Obverse
The central part features a left-facing profile portrait of Empress Catherine I Alexeevna. Around the portrait, the text reads: EKATERINA IMPERATRITSA I SAMODERZHITSA VSEROSISKAYA SPB
