The edge of the coin is stamped with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The central part depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The heraldic shield, above the eagle's heads, is crowned with the imperial crown. The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, all entwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Below the ribbon are the letters: on the left "N", on the right "G". The initials of Mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. Below the initials is the year of mintage "1826 GODA.". The rim is decorated with short denticles.
