The central part features the denomination—the numeral 10. Above the numeral is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below is the name of the monetary unit 'КОПѢЕКЪ' (KOPEKS). Below this inscription is a line, under which is the abbreviation 'С.П.Б.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge is an oak branch. The branches are tied together at the base with a ribbon. The edge of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a larger third crown is placed above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Below the right talon is the letter 'Ф', and below the left talon is the letter 'Г'. These are the initials of Mintmaster Fedor Gelman. Below is the year of minting '1811.'. The rim is decorated with denticles.
