  • Reverse
The upper part of the reverse features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 5 KOPĒEKЪ. This is followed by a divider element consisting of two elongated, oppositely directed figures with a dot between them. Below the divider is the year of minting "1858". Under the year is the abbreviation "S.P.B." (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge is an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a neat bow. The entire edge of the coin is struck with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The central part depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two smaller crowns, and a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the Moscow coat of arms, a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback spearing a dragon. Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. The titular coats of arms are depicted on the wings: on the right – Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left – Polish, Taurican, and Finnish. In the eagle's talons are a scepter and an orb. Below the talons are the initials "F" and "B", indicating Mintmaster Fedor Blum. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
