Reverse The central part features a four-line inscription: ГРИВЕННИКЪ҂АѰSМ, indicating the denomination, year of minting in Cyrillic (1706), and the mint mark. The edge of the coin has a twisted dotted border.
Obverse The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned between them. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. The rim resembles a massive twisted cable (the teeth are angled relative to the field).
