  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). A chain with the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called encircles the shield. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. Above the eagle is the mint year — '1738', divided by the large crown. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: МОНЕТА ПОЛТИНА
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Empress Anna Ioannovna. In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'С П Б' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Around the portrait is the text: Б•М•АННА•IМПЕРАТРИЦА•IСАМОДЕРЖИЦА•ВСЕРОСИСКАЯ•
