In the central part, the State Emblem of the Russian Empire is depicted — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is on the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in the left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'A', under the left — the letter 'I'. The initials of Mintmaster Alexander Ivanov. Above the eagle is the year of mintage — '1801.'.
