Reverse The central part features the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two coronets, a third, larger crown above them. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left an orb. On the eagle's breast is a shield with the denomination designation — the numeral '15'. Around the eagle, along the rim, are 15 counting dots, divided into 3 groups of five dots, also indicating the coin's denomination. Below the eagle, on a stylized ribbon, is the year of mintage — '1767'.
Obverse The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of the Russian Empress Catherine II. In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'M M D' (Moscow Mint). Along the edge, in an arc from the lower left, runs the inscription: B•M•EKATERINA•II•IMP•ISAMOD•VSEROS
