The top shield is the Moscow coat of arms, the bottom is the coat of arms of the Siberian Tsardom. The left shield is the coat of arms of the Astrakhan Tsardom, the right is the Kazan Tsardom. The top shield is crowned with an imperial crown, the other three shields are crowned with tsarist crowns. Between the circular coats of arms are four small roses, above them the digits of the year of issue: 1 '7', 5 5. Around the edge, along the rim, the text: IМРСКАЯ 'РОССÏИС' 'МОН•ЦЕНА' 'ДВАТЦАТ•РУБ', divided into four parts by crowns.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Empress Elizabeth I (Petrovna). Around the portrait, along the rim, the inscription: Б•М•ЕЛИСАВЕТЪ•I•IМП•IСАМОД•ВСЕРОС. Below the portrait, the abbreviation 'S P B' (Saint Petersburg Mint) is struck.
