  • Reverse
In the upper part of the reverse is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below, on two lines, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated: 25 KOPĒEKS. Next is a divider element consisting of two oppositely directed lines with a bordered dot between them. Below is the year of minting - '1839'. Under the year - the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part of the coin along the edge is a laurel branch, and in the right an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a neat bow. Raised denticles are minted all around the coin's edge.
  • Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire - a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow - a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is on the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right - Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left - Polish, Tauric, and Finnish. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left - an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'H', under the left - the letter 'G'. The initials of mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. The center of the obverse is enclosed within a braided rim. In the upper part is an eight-petaled flower, visually indicating the start of the inscription: CHISTAGO SEREBRA 1 ZOLOTNIK 5 1/4 DOLĒI. The rim is decorated with short denticles.
