  • Reverse
The upper part of the reverse features the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 10 KOPĒEKЪ. This is followed by a divider element consisting of two elongated, oppositely directed figures with a dot between them. Slightly below the ornamental divider is the coin's year of mintage '1849', beneath which is the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the left edge of the coin is a laurel branch, and along the right edge, an oak branch. The branches are tied together at the base with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The entire edge of the coin is stamped with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by a double-headed eagle—the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned between them. All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. The coats of arms on the wings are: Left wing: Polish, Taurida, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and below it is the letter 'П'. In its left talon, it holds an orb, and below it is the letter 'А'. Together, the letters form the initials of mintmaster Pavel Alekseev. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
