  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a dragon with a long spear (the dragon's head is to the right). The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, in its left an orb. Above the eagle is the minting year — '1742'. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: MONETA•RUBLE•
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of Russian Empress Elizabeth I Petrovna. Below is the abbreviation 'M•M•D' (Moscow Mint). From left to right along the edge in an arc runs the inscription: B•M•ELISAVET•I•IMP: I SAMOD: VSEROS:
