  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is positioned above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). A chain with the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called encircles the shield. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Below the right talon is the letter 'F', and below the left, the letter 'L'. These are the initials of mintmaster Fyodor Lesnikov. Above the eagle is the year of mintage—'1775'. An inscription arcs from right to left around the state emblem: MONETA • RꙊBL'. The edge is reeded.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of Russian Empress Catherine II. Along the edge, an inscription arcs from the lower left: B•M•EKATERINA•II•IMP•ISAMOD•VSEROS. On the sleeve's cuff are the letters 'T.I.', (engraver Timofey Ivanov). In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'S P B' (Saint Petersburg Mint). The edge is decorated with short denticles.
