  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is positioned above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The shield is encircled by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Below the right talon is the letter 'E', and below the left is the letter 'I'—the initials of mintmaster Egor Ivanov. Above the eagle is the year of mintage: '1764'. Surrounding the eagle, facing inward, is the text: МОНЕТА•РУБЛЬ•
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by a right-facing profile portrait of Empress Catherine II. Around the portrait is the text: Б•М•ЕКАТЕРИНА•II•IМП•IСАМОД•ВСЕРОС• On the sleeve truncation are the letters 'Т.I.', the initials of the medalist Timofei Ivanov. In the lower part, beneath the portrait, is the abbreviation 'М М Д' (Moscow Mint).
