  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, both heads of which bear crowns. A third, larger crown is positioned above and between them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left a globus cruciger. Around the eagle, facing inward, is the text: МОНЕТА РУБЛЬ 1731 (COIN ROUBLE 1731).
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features a right-facing profile portrait of the Russian Empress Anna Ioannovna. From left to right along the rim in an arc runs the inscription: БМ АННА IМПЕРАТРИЦА IСАМОДЕРЖИЦА ВСЕРОСИСКАЯ (BM ANNA EMPRESS AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA).
