In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. On the eagle's chest is the coat of arms of Moscow – a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The heraldic shield, above the eagle's heads, is crowned with the imperial crown. The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, intertwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Below the ribbon are the letters: on the left 'П', on the right 'Д'. The initials of mintmaster Pavel Danilov. Above the eagle is the denomination designation – the circular inscription 'ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ.' (FIVE RUBLES). Below the eagle – the year of mintage '1826 ГОДА.' (YEAR 1826). The rim is decorated with short denticles.
