Reverse
In the upper part of the reverse is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, on two lines, are the denomination and monetary unit: 10 KOPĒEKЪ. Next is a separator element consisting of two elongated, oppositely directed figures with a dot between them. Slightly below the ornamental separator is the coin's year of mintage '1855', beneath which is the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). On the left side of the coin, along the edge, is a laurel branch, and on the right, an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. Raised denticles are struck around the entire edge of the coin.
Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two coronets, and a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the Moscow coat of arms — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious with a spear, slaying a dragon. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurian, and Finnish. In the eagle's claws are a scepter and an orb. Beneath the claws are the initials 'H' and 'I', indicating Mintmaster Nikolai Iossa. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
