Reverse
The center is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread, both heads wearing crowns, with a larger third crown above and between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Beneath the eagle's talons are the Cyrillic letters ҂А—ѰЗ, indicating the year of issue (1707). In the upper part, around the eagle, the text reads: МОСКОВСКИI ПОЛТИННИКЪ. The coin's edge is bordered by a twisted dotted rim.
Obverse
