In the central part, a football player is depicted facing left, kicking a ball. In the background, a goalkeeper is shown against the goalposts, with part of a stadium and spectators visible behind them. Flags are above the stadium, with a flagpole bearing the US flag on the left. Around the edge is a wide rim with English inscriptions: from left to right - 'XV WORLD CUP U.S.A. 1994', framed on both sides by a dot, and at the bottom a two-line inscription '1 CROWN'. The numeral 1 is at the bottom of the image field.

In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. Behind her are the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the edge is a wide rim with English inscriptions: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1994'.
