  • Reverse
In the central part, an inscription in five lines: ГОСУДАР=СТВЕННАЯРОССIЙСКАЯМОНЕТАРУБЛЬ. Above the inscription is the imperial crown. Below the inscription is the designation of the Saint Petersburg Mint — the letters С.П Б. (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part near the edge of the coin's reverse is a laurel branch, and in the right part — an oak branch. At the base, the branches are intertwined with a ribbon, the knot of which forms a bow. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
In the central part is depicted the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'Ф', under the left — the letter 'Г'. The initials of mintmaster Fedor Gelman. The central part is enclosed within a circular border. Outside the border, along the rim, are circular inscriptions: above the eagle — '1805', the year of minting. To the right of the date — a small circle with a raised dot in the center. To the left of the coat of arms is the circular inscription — 'МОНЕТА', to the right — 'РУБЛЬ', separated from each other by a small circle with a raised dot in the center. The rim is decorated with denticles.
