Along the arc of the coin's edge from left to right runs the Spanish text: 'DEPARTAMENTO DE CHIHUAHUA', which translates to 'Department of Chihuahua'. In the lower part along the arc of the coin's edge are two five-pointed stars. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.
