    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1923∙' is placed along the rim, broken into six segments by the rays of the star. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    Central hole. Around it, the inscription 'ONE TENTH OF A PENNY' in English above and in Arabic 'عُشِرالپَنّي' below. Along the rim, the inscription 'GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:' (George V King and Emperor of India) is split into two parts: 'GEORGIVS V' on the left and 'REX ET IND: IMP:' on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. A crown, symbol of the British Empire, is above. Below the hole is the mintmark 'KN' for Kings Norton Metal Co., Birmingham. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
