In the central part, a stylized image of a barn owl facing left, looking directly ahead. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: on the right vertically '3 DOLLARS', at the bottom horizontally the country name 'CANADA' and the year of mintage '2010'.
Obverse
In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the truncation of the portrait are the Latin letters 'SB' - the artist's mark of Susanna Blunt. To the right and left of the portrait, a vertical inscription in Latin split into two parts: on the right - 'ELIZABETH II', on the left - 'D∙ G∙ REGINA' (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen).
