    In the central part, a flower fairy is depicted standing upright, holding a fuchsia stem in both hands above her head. The fairy is dressed in a costume made of flower petals. On either side of the image are horizontal inscriptions in English: on the left the plant name 'FUCHSIA', on the right the two-line inscription '1 CROWN'.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1996'. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
