In the central part, within a circle, the mascot of the X Winter Paralympic Games, the bird Sumi, is depicted facing left and participating in an alpine skiing competition. The central relief design on the reverse is executed in color. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top the inscription "50 cents", on the left and bottom the location and year of the X Games - "Vancouver 2010".
Obverse
In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the truncation of the portrait are the Latin letters "SB" - the artist's mark of Susanna Blunt. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top the country name "CANADA", on the right the monarch's name "ELIZABETH II". Below the portrait is the year of mintage "2010". On the left is the emblem of the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games - "Man becomes mountain", below it the Paralympic symbol.
