    At the top, the name of the state in English 'ZAMBIA'; at the bottom, a two-line inscription reads '2000 KWACHA'. In the central part is the state coat of arms, featuring a shield with six wavy vertical stripes, above it crossed a hoe and a pickaxe, and above that a fish eagle. The shield is held by a man on the right and a woman on the left, standing on a grassy field. At the base of the coat of arms is the motto 'One Zambia One Nation'. On either side of the coat of arms are the digits of the split year of issue '1994': '19' on the left, '94' on the right. The edge of the coin features elements in the form of dots.
